Do building upgrades affect Rooks Towers of Light ?

If so, It would open another gold-spending strategy of rook players.

Btw, how much damage does a tower deal anyway ?

Last time I tested in beta they did not and I doubt it has changed. It would be imba having 8 towers dealing crazy damage with high HP.

No, it doesn't directly buff Rook's towers.

However, if you get the tower upgrade and your towers are chaining from your base's towers... will that cause them to do more damage?

The towers don't chain. It's just a graphical effect.

I'm not sure if this makes sense to me, since if your towers are in range of each other then they'll -only- chain.  Under your logic, that would mean that it's only worthwhile to build multiple towers if they're out of "chain range" with each other.

I'm pretty sure that being in range of multiple towers doubles the amount you get hit.  You never see them both firing at once, though, since they have such a quick effect and slow rate of fire.

And you got this from which source...?

He's right. At the very least I would expect that the towers in range chain up to deal X time the damage. Otherwise it's just a bad system.

Nub? deffently!
the chain is a powerfull strategy only nubs dont know how to use
Prisson map > play as rook > take tower skill > make tower in firing range from original tower
make a chain of tower all the way to the middle
now they will shoot in the middle with the damage of the original towers (i.e killing creeps very fast)
now as a rook u can manually aim it to the desired area as well, instead of making a tower
u just stand near one, it expendes the firing range of the laser x2 by using the tower on your sholders.

Playing the game I reckon. I only see towers dealing around 240-260 damage at all times. No matter if I kill the tower next to it.

From what I understand, towers chaining together is basically just increasing the range of a tower. Say a towers range is 8m... you are in range of a tower 5m away from you but there is a second 10m away from you that is too far away. The tower that is 5m away will shoot at you, then the tower 10m away whille shoot at the 5m tower, and the shot will "chain" through that tower to hit you. So you'll be hit with two shots from two towers for normal damage.

I hope that made sense. .. I actually use this to my advantage quite a bit with the tower build. I'll often make a line of towers connected to the normal towers that the map starts with, and have one all-powerful tower at the front of it that's firing out multiple shots for all the other towers.

yup the tower links is there to extend the front line of tower defance forward

They actually don't chain.

If you are in range of 3 towers, you'll be hit by all 3, but it looks like just 1.

You'll notice you get more than 1 damage number over your head, independant of the graphical effect..

Hehe, yeah. What some people don't understand, is that the game runs in code, and the graphics are just an overlay with information. Information about where our character is, is displayed by our charactermodel moving around on a collision-box, marked up for us by textures on the collision-box.

the game comes in code???

i thought they were using an imba paintbrush this whole time...

Prism towers actually.

But back on the topic, it's really stupid if it's just a graphical effect, Why go through adding graphics that don't explain anything but rather mislead -.-
