Is 1vs1 dead?

Or has it never really taken off?

Demigod is a teamgame, playing it 1vs1 is like playing CS or Dota or TF2 in 1vs1,

so ya it never was popular and never will be in 1vs1.

Being a hardcore RTS fan I always did 1v1 as my thing. However like TBO said this is really a team-based game like CS:S and DotA.

However, I love 1v1's in DG - specially mirrors (cant complain about imba), but not everyone does.

This issue is that the whole point of Demi god is that "there can be only one" winner....

The team game thing doesnt sit well with the premise of the story?

You become the god by being the most powerful Demigod on your side, and defeating the other side. Makes perfect sense to me.

That doesnt make any sense. Its even more weird when you see 3 of the same  demi god on the same team or the same demi god on different teams.

For the pantheon, it should be 1vs1 only. As it is, it is luck of the draw with what type of team mates you get. Sometimes you get newbs, sometimes you get good players, but to rely on random teaming for a tourny game isn't fair based on the skills of the individual. A 1vs1 would still work quite well and be fun.

This is coming from a guy who has played over 15 matches and not lost, and I would still like to see a 1vs1.

In single player tournament mode there is only one per team. Online has no story...like every other game. Ever played CnC - isnt it strange that GDI are fighting GDI all the time online?

not sure if the game is balanced 1v1, seems close to balanced manyVsmany but 1v1 i can see a few combinations i would not like to try.

It just isn't a 1v1 game.  But 2v2 works pretty well.

I didnt realise that... Still seems odd that Demi gods would team with each other when they want to beat all comers.

Why try to fight 7 at once when you can fight with 3 allies and still prove you're the best of the 4 on your team?

They don't have to have the same game for 1v1 as they do all the others.

It would be quite possible to have a special 1v1 mode that involved gaining a fixed amount of gold with which you purchase artifacts/items/levels to setup your demigod, then the game loads and you fight it out to the death in a smaller than normal Arena without any reinforce points etc.

Think of it like some arena of death mode.
