"unable to create Direct3d" no integrated gaphics

I am running on a Dell XPS 1530 laptop. Recently got a 27" LG W2753V 16:9 1920x1080 default resolution monitor. Demigod was running fine on the dell 2001fp @ 1600x1200. Since I attached this monitor i've been getting "Unable to create Direct3D" when i start up demigod, any idea whats wrong? I have seen the old posts for this in the beta forum about Demigod not working with integrated graphics, the laptop is using a 8600M card and works fine without this monitor attached and with the Dell i mentioned above. Is there any config file or anything I can manually set the resolution?

Yes go to your My Documents/My Games/Gas Powered Games/Demigod   folder and open up the file called Game.prefs in notepad and then use the search function to find 'primary_adapter' this will be your resolution setting.  Go ahead and just change that to what you want and hopefully it will work.

If not look a page or two back and find a post I created about the Direct3D problem, there is a link in there to a fresh Game.prefs file.  You will still have to edit the settings but it should help prevent something else from interfering.

Thanks changing the resolution didnt work but deleting the game.prefs file did!

I don't have a prefs file, but I do have a log file. The end of the log shows:

using an Acer Aspire 5610-4608 with Intel GM 950 for video. Latest directx/video drivers installed. Hmm.

Pretty much the same problem. Two 8800GT's and I got the game.prefs file from here. Having it or not having it didn't make any difference. I tried all the stuff from this thread to no avail. Not sure what to do... I hope that someone can provide a fix or something. I'll post my DXDiag if someone thinks its necessary, but it says Direct3D is running fine.

GMA950 cannot run the game. GMA965 and above can *technically* do Shader Model 3, but is so weak that it's not really worth trying.

Ah ok. That's my laptop, was hoping to play at the office when nothing to do. Alas. :)
