You Thought Demigod Was The Only One?

CoH - Couldn't play till first patch (on mp)

EaW - Connections were just as bad as Demigods if not worst. Took them a while to patch, Stardock however are fixing it now.

Half-Life 2 - It was a disaster.  Nobody could play it forweeks because everyone had to activate through the then newSteam. It was a complete nightmare.

Hellgate London - Not much needs to be said..

Anarachy Online

Age of Conan - Balance was horrible...Healer class apparently had higher dps then other classes

Diablo II - Sold 10x as much as they expected, servers overloaded

CnC3 - Not even on release date, but later on. Servers kept going down and you couldnt log in.

Vangaurd

Demigod is not the only one. Give it a week or so and give them a chance to redeem themselves before we really start flaming these guys. Lets not forget how nicely balanced this game is for one just released. From what I've seen these guys have given better support than any company has for a game so far and are really working their asses off to get the game fixed.

Note: Add any more games that have had sucky release days here

One big one that you missed:

WoW - Massive server proublems for months after launch.

how about just add every online game that's released to date?

Warhammer - Overloaded servers, class balance issues which removed 4 classes. 6 months later STILL no Main Cities except for Chaos and Empire.

World of Warcraft - Horrible AI. Disgusting Class Balance issues. Unfinished zones and loot tables.

Shadowbane - Really. The only redeeming quality this game had was it eventually became free.

Everquest I AND II - Sluggy servers, horrible graphic issues. Overloaded on both releases.

Star Wars: Galaxies - Actually. Scratch anything released by Sony. All their release dates were basically met with the same underplanning and low expectations and lack of stress testing across all their games and servers. You basically paid to beta their games for a year after release.

Thats not true. I was there for the beta and the release.

Half-Life 2

No problems with HL2 for me.

"Age of Conan - Balance was horrible"  If only we could dream the balance is horrible in this game. First we need to get it working properly before we can even think of that.

yea, give it a week or so.  Practice with single, experiment with different demigods and builds.  EVERY multiplayer based game that I have played in recent memory has had significant server problems at launch.

I've been through so many messy launches that now it is just part of the experience.

Also Im not sure why you are copying and pasting this stuff from the chat room into the forum. Is it really necessary? Are you so hurt by people criticizing the obvious and gamebreaking bugs that are in the game?

I played through Half Life 2 in a sitting starting at 12 am the day it came out. Didn't have a single problem.

Left 4 Dead was is the best MP launch I've experienced (tho Demigod is my 3rd so...). Biggest problem was it could take 5+ minutes to find a server, and that's assuming you join a lobby and not a game in progress.

Demigod is fine as it is tbh. There will always be people who have some CTD etc, especialy in the begining a beta test can never compare to a release for finding bugs.

Only problem currently with Demigod is the p2p multiplayer. Balance issues GUI enhancements etc can always be discussed but overall this game is fine except for the connection problems.

Release day for Demigod was not sucky imo. I could play singleplayer all day and a few multiplayer matches with people who had there router configured properly.

Bah, are you kidding me? Valves dedicated servers were a mess!

l4d launch was bad too lol

had to run my own server for my friends to play on, but it was better than most launches...

As long as we're listing online games, can we add Lord of the Rings Online?  Which I'd have to say "Almost flawless for everyone on release day." of.
