Any Australians experiencing online lag problems?

Just wondering if there are any other Australians out there who are having way more trouble with demigod than usual for online games. Being Aussie and playing against americans you get used to having a bit of lag but hell, this is insane.

Fairly sure it has to do with the Peer to Peer system...it gets a bit awkward when you're downloading and uploading to 5 people in the US. That's a guess though...in Australia haven't even played a game but I have joined a couple successfully.

Hey,

Fellow aussie here (Queensland). I can join some games, but i think the ones i can't are other peoples fault. The game feels a bit slugish online, but otherwise its quite playable.

We should get some aussie league or something going.

aussie league sounds awesome, seems we have to wait though since it comes out next month in australia >.<

Another Aussie!

Havn't had a chance to play online yet, when i tried last night it didnt work.

@Silphius - I bought on (I think) the impulse website and ordered the digital + disc option. Cost me a total of 100 delivered but i was able to download it straight away and i will get my discs from the US fairly soon i think.

Alas until I change service providers I cant afford the bandwidth of downloading the game. Perhaps this will be the straw that breaks the camels back and gets me angry enough to do it.

I signed up for Telstras unlimited cable and all I got was the 3G cap >:(

Not sure if it's why... But generally all games i play I can get in(blame others for not being able to connect and making us go through the hang/cycle) are fine.

The only ones that I experience any lag are people with 300+ ping... And generally when I ask very nicely it's people from halfway across the globe, I live in the USA. And maybe since its more p2p then server hosted that is why it is sluggish if you are connecting with USA people, I would assume they see the exact same thing.

Again not sure... But only slow games with lag are from people far away, while the other USA guys tend to have sub 150ping...

To all the other aussies feel free to add me to your friends list for a game some time! Yeah I used to play a lot of MMO's and it was there I learnt what a curse it was having trans-pacific lag to contend with. my system is good, my connection is good, most other games i play it's there but negligible. So far in this I've played 1 game which i left half way through since it was laggy as hell, and been kicked out of about 6 game foyers because "your ping's too high Toonook, stop downloading!" "I'm not downloading, I live in Australia" *You have been kicked from the game foyer*
