Demigod Impulse Crash

I just purchased Demigod, when I open the game I am asked to update.  I click update, the game closes, and nothing happens. I get no error message, no notification.  I have disabled all my firewalls, pop-up blockers, et cetera. I am on XP, I am directly connected to my modem. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I think you have to go straight through the impulse module oustide of the game first.  I have almost identical settings as you, and have the exact same problem. 

 

Load game, crash, no crash log, sigh, google search "Demi-god crash"  And this is why i love computer games sooo much lol. I got impulse up now, but its only saying, "Preparing download" 

2.82 GIG for an UPDATE!  WOW, i'm just going to keep my negativity to myself as best i can, and watch a half dozen television shows while the download runs..... 2.82 gig on the day after release.... /shakehead.

ha, dunno where or why it was saying it was that much, it just ran while i was ranting about the download size, 26mb. MUCH more acceptable.
