keyboard support

Would it be possible to implement keyboard support in upcomming versions. (i was kinda surprised it wasn't already included)

For example the windows button would make the dock visible and the arrow keys would be used to scroll true the dock items.

This would give alot of posibilities. Like using the dock on a media center pc where remote control buttons are mapped to keystrokes etc ...

Fantastic suggestion!  I would love to see that in v2.0 as well.

May I suggest Keyboard Launchpad for that?

You could have icons that did X on ObjectDock and keystrokes that did the same thing in KLP . . and the effect would be the same, no?

Having said that, I'll take your suggestion and put it in the hopper for review.  ;)

Hi again. I'm not entirely sure but i don't think the effect would be the same. For instance scrolling true the dock with arrow keys would not be possible (unless klp makes some mouse movement event) Its not for launching applications that i like objectdock  so much its the visual way that i can pick and launch them. There's also way more to do with this than just for the htpc usage i suggested. For laptops for example ( i don't know anyone who does not hate its touchpad ).

+ It would be the only dock supporting keyboard. Coding this into some open source dock wouldn't take me so long but it wouldn' t be nearly as fancy and packed with  features as objectdock and i do not think the world needs yet another dock

Now if only some more users see the adventages of keyboard support and would react here.  :)

I don't not support keyboard support, but until (and if) I addd that feature I offered an alternative.
