Starting play - start with original or entrenchment?

I picked up Sins awhile ago but never got around to playing it. I will probably be playing single player most of the time.  Should I play the original first and later move on to Entrenchment or should I start with Entrenchment from the beginning? It's not clear to me if the Entrenchment enhancements encompass the entire game or if the add-on just introduces new maps that have the additional features.

I would say dive right into Entrenchment. It adds a lot of content to the game and doesn't change the core mechanics.

Seconding the above, just start with Entrenchment. It has everything the original does, just with a bunch of extra stuff.

Entreanchment doesn't add any new maps it adds starbases and mines as the main things which original doesn't have

My suggestion is play original then if you like it then get entrenchment if not why buy it

The problem with this tactic is that it is immpossible to not like sins

After playing Entrenchment you simply can't imagine Sins without it...

 

Whatever happens get the Impulse patches and updates.  They aren't just bug fixes, they are balance/graphics/awesomeness improvements
