Tournament?

No official tournaments.

There have been some highly skilled PUG matches, or DT vs others (including other DT, [_] etc...) matches.

I think JJ is generally considered the best going around at the moment.

One of the factors that needs to be considered is not just how good are they in a 1v1 or at micro but also in a team scenario. You would also need to consider if a played can pick their fav race, or would have to go random etc...

well I sayin 1v1 no teamates to fail you. You pick your best race or whatever you want. On one of the premade maps so everything is even and your at your best. A tourny of pure skill.

There are a number of players out there who probably play better as part of a team then 1v1. This means that they might lose to player A, but would win if they were on a team against player A as they are a better team player then player A is....

I understand this but you cant find out who is the best if he is playing with a team of varying skill. All levels have to be even.

Anyway there can be 2 seperate tournys if need be. One with and without teams.

This was already tried once a couple of months ago and failed miserably because no one could get coordinated enough to get the necessary people to show up for matches...It would be cool if someone could get an official thing set up...and I agree that it needs to be 1v1 all the way.  In a team match, there are too many other determining factors that would not be representative of an individuals own talent.

I tried many moons ago to get an Online Tournament going. But few signed up and even fewer particpated once it started. I dont mind setting up another one if people are willing to join up and participate this time.

See for yourself. I made it as easy as one can to get it going. Yet ppl failed to play their matches and failed to ask for extentions. Fail to even check the damn post.

That's what I was saying in my above post UE...Appreciate you trying to get it going though and if one goes again, I would be interested, but only in a 1v1.

I would suggest starting out by organizing a 1v1 ladder.  The obvious benefit of 1v1 is, very simply, that only two people need to show up for the game to actually take place, which makes scheduling easier.  If it takes off and proves to be a hit then perhaps a 2v2 ladder could be organized.
