Super weapons revamp ideas

Listen up you modders

Alright all of you modders, you seem to know what you are doing and are doing well at it, but right now nobody has come up with any for super weapons.

 

Right now, the super weapons lay at the very top of the research tree, a tantilizing treat to those who work towards em. But once you get them, you quickly discover that they are the most useless things in the game, with the sole exception of the advent 'convert bomb' dropped on outlying planets.

 

For vesari, the EMP bomb does only pathetic amount of damage to sheilds and the Advent weapon only turns into a glorified spyglass. The TEC makes no sence, as it blows the crap out of the planet, yet almost nothing to the people surrounding it. These could be remade, retextured, and redone so that super weapons are to be feared.

 

And there is my idea. Shoot away.

The superweapons are far from useless and don't need to be any more dangerous. 3 novalith cannons are an I-win button that blasts your opponents planets one by one. And nothing can stop it.

However they are kind of hum drum in that they don't get to do anything else. The Novalith can boost a payload through phase space for example. So what else could we carry besides firecrackers?

Complete planet obliteration? O:) I tend to agree that theyre fine like they are.  The Novalith is a total planet denial weapon and since by the time you have it you probably wont need more planets...The Advent one is really nice for not only seeing what your enemies are up to but really screwing the planet its hit with and giving your ships a serious boost while theyre there.  Its not an "I kill you across the map" weapon but its definitely useful.  The Kostura shuts down all buildings (except starbases) at a planet for a good while, does decent damage to everything, and makes the planet a phase stabilizer node aka instant jump point.   The thing to remember about super weapons is that ONE isnt enough.  A single strike isnt usually enough to do serious damage, you want to hit a planet with 2-3.  2-3 Novaliths = dead planet, 2-3 Kosturas = serious damage to all ships and structures, 2-3 Deliverance engines = the enemy planet putting out 100+ culture/sec of YOUR culture.
