Error....

Every time I try to start this game it says "A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly."

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling,didnt help.I bought this game,so I expect it to work.Please tell me there is a fix for this.

 

Edit:You know what?Just forget it!I'll just deal with it and never buy anything fron Star Dock again.If this is the customer support Im going to get,just forget it!!!!

If you are getting past the launcher, please open your debug.err file in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem. The location you'll find the debug.err in varies depending on which game you're playing:

Dread Lords: My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2
Dark Avatar: My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar
Twilight of the Arnor: My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor

Older versions may store the debug directly in the location the game is installed at.

 

If you are not even getting the launcher screen to come up, then it is likely an antivirus or ms-xml issue. In either case though the simplest solution is to just forget about the launcher, and change your shortcut to point directly at the game (GalCiv2.exe, GC2DarkAvatar.exe, or GC2TwilightoftheArnor.exe instead of GC2Launch/TALaunch).
