You get the collector's edition when you order through Stardock

Same thing in USA.  It's cheaper on amazon.com than Stardock.  Just buy where ever you find the cheapest like all other electronic stuff.

For example, you can buy an apple ipod cheaper in any website than apple.com.   You can buy World of Warcraft cheaper in many places than blizzard.com.

Are you sure that it's only the collector's edition on Stardock ?

I'm in France, and when I choose the collector's edition, the box looks like the "basic edition", and it's still 50$ and they don't really say which is it..

Is the collector's edition only for the USA, and maybe the UK ?

I would like to pre-order if it still allows to try the beta, but I don't want to buy the wrong one..

If it's only for the USA, i'll order it on amazon.com :-)

I believe it has been mention here (or maybe it was in another website) before that it has something to do with Stardock will not undercut  the retailers or they won't sale the game. So basicly they agree, as with almost every company, to sell a product  at full price so a retailer can if they choose to put it on sale  to quickly sell out their stock.

As some noted here they will buy the game from a retailer at a cheaper price then from Stardock directly which in turn mean more profit for the retailers.

you could imagine how a retailer would feel after buying hundreds of copies of a game to learn the publisher  turn around undersold them.

There will always be retailers who will sell a product at a loss in order to gain customers.

The image moch up might not look different, but all boxed orders from stardock are collector's edition.  Digital download from stardock has some collector's edition material but not all of it.

No.  Unless something has changed, the Collector's Edition is ONLY available from stardock AND it doesn't matter what country you order it from.

after all the direct purchase from SD supports them more as if i buy it over amazon and those other online stores. after all they release a so fantastic game for a lower price than 50€/65$ (here in german for euros its quiet cheap :) ) without any DRM and such shit. i like to pay more if i can support an developer who respects the wishes of his customers for not using DRM and copy protection. those are only disturbing and I'm realy thankfull that demigod is not such kind of game... after all i use cracks and alikes on all games with DRM and copy protection which i bought and got less problems with them as without them...

demigod wont need such illegal stuff to run perfectly i think. no... i know.

EDIT: also they spend a lot of money to develop a nice new kind of connection between players which is absolutely innovative. that should be honored!

Some retailers (Amazon for one) will also have limited supplies of the collector's edition. It is a separate SKU though and will be listed as such if that's what they're selling. The list price for the boxed CE at retailers is also $49.95, same as we charge direct, but as ever they may run sales for less.

At any rate, we really don't mind which way you choose to buy the game--just do whichever is best for you. Retail (more exposure, counts on sales charts) and direct/download sales (more profit) each have particular benefits to us, so either way is fine. :)

Thank you very much Trigeminal for all :-)

So I'll pre-order the game from Stardock !

Buy directly from Stardock IMO.

More profits go to them instead of the middleman. :D
