WindowBlinds 6.4 Update Released!

An update to WindowBlinds is available today bringing it to version 6.4.110.  WindowBlinds is an application that allows you to completely change the look and feel of Windows XP and Vista by applying visual styles, also known as skins, that change the Graphical User Interface of Windows.  Thousands of skins are available for download on WinCustomize.com, and WindowBlinds is safe to use as it does not alter or patch any system files.

This update brings:

  • Updates for Safari, Skype 4, and IE8 tweaks.
  • Bug fixes

Current users can download this update via Impulse.  WindowBlinds is available stand-alone, or as part of the Object Desktop suite of desktop enhancements.  A free trial is available and the full version is only $19.95.

For your free download, and more information about WindowBlinds, visit www.windowblinds.net.

I don't know if anyone else has had this experience, but for me every time I get a new WindowBlinds update, there are a few skins--always the same few skins--that I have to manually tweak the .UIS settings for, because the new WindowBlinds update will always forget or simply overwrite the .UIS files belonging to these skins. The usual culprits in question are "Aero Executive", "Aero Metal", "Diamond", "Leo", "Dragon", and "Pirate" all by Stardock Design, which have to have their .UIS files loaded in Notepad or Wordpad and have me add the line eg. "Wallpaper=Diamond\diamond.jpg" in order to get WindowBlinds to apply the wallpaper file and then I will have to re-save it and re-apply it. It will then work fine until approximately the next version of WindowBlinds comes out, to which I then have to go through the same bloody process all over again. And this has been going on for ... hmmm, let me see ... as long as I care to remember.

since windows 7 is coming close to RC is there a topic somewhere in which a possible release of win7 compatible windowblinds is in the works? What is the status? thank you
Reply #18 Top

do you remember when Win Vista was on its way to came out? many users that had the beta vertion asked the same, windowblinds is not a progry to work with betas, but we are all sure that it will be able to work under Win7 system, or at least i hope so..., i dont like that mega start menu bar :P

smart Alec ;) , all I asked for was the status. Nowhere did I ask for a version of windowblinds for win7 in it's beta phase. And Stardock had news about how it comes along with a new version for when Vista was developed and before it hit the stores. thanks
