I just don't understand this anymore. Basically what I have going on is Sins 1.15 and Entrenchment 1.01 installed. Now, I'm trying to get GalaxyForge working but the program just crashes out with the "encountered an error" window. I read elsewhere that it was the version that was posted, something about missing DLLs, so I redownloaded it just 10 minutes ago...same issue.
I took a shot at just adding a custom galaxy to the Entrenchment galaxy directory and making the changes to the manifest, making sure it was EXACT! All I get after launching the game is a black screen and then the minidump error. I'm assuming this is happening because the galaxy file was created with the version of GF from just before Entrenchment came out (1.14?). If so, no biggie, I can recreate the map. I just need to get all the tools working again (I should have mentioned ParticleForge does the same exact thing) to be able to do that.
So if I revert the manifest change and remove the file from the directory, I can run both games without any problems.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled: the game (and expansion), galaxyforge, particleforge, forgetools (I've tried both the standalone PF and GF and the bundled versions (just in case)), every single version of .NET that was in my system...and I still get everything I described above.
Any thoughts? I'm at wits end. I just find it odd from all the posts I see in the modding directory, everyone is happily plugging along...I have to be missing something.
