How to make race name box bigger on new game screen?

How to amke the name of the race we select bigger? Because the names I use are too big for the box and spill out onto the box with the team number?

Help please ;)

Thank you!

Uhm, there's a graphic for it in one of the tgas in the Textures folder, but then you'd need to find a brush file in Window that splices the tga and adjust its offset to take into account the larger size.. but isn't there barely any room to strech out the race box anyway? The other buttons aren't magically going to move to make room for it, and AFAIK you can't change their position?

Maybe you can just use a contraction for the name? :P

Well TEC is already contracted enough dont you think ;)

You have any ideas for contractions of Vasari and advent??

Uh.. what'd you do to make those run off the box? They should be fitting :P

Vasari-Assault

Psi-Assault

TEC-Assault

They go out by about 2-3 characters!

Better yet!!! ANY WAY WE CAN REDUCE THE SIZE OF LETTERS???

They go out by about 2-3 characters!
End of quote

Well, -ault is 4 characters so getting rid of that would work. *cough*

You could replace the Sins font with a new one that's smaller, if you want to go that route.

OK! next obvious question! How do I do that???

I just want the size of the characters to go down...until they fit! But if changing style will help! I can go that way too ;)

I've never tried. There is a  Fonts folder if memory serves.. and there's got to be a file that sets which font is used in the menu. I know there was a mod in one of the early patches that changed the font in-game, so I know it's possible!

Thanks Annatar! Once again you are the wisest among us all!

HAIL THE GOD!

Little question...would you know where that font folder be located??? lol

Probably in the installation directory :P

LOL thanks !!! ;)

so not something we can modify through a mod...Damn! :(

Who says? That other mod did it :P Unless it was an over-write of the stock files. Throw the Fonts folder into your mod path, and delete everything in it. Throw the Window folder too just in case. If something horrible happens, that means it can pick up fonts from a mod. That's assuming the file that specifies fonts is in Window..

ok tanks! will do that!

i though you could use custom fonts, just load them into a folder call fonts.

I say put into a font folder cause, in vinalla sins program files folder, there is a folder named fonts, and there inside is a few font, so i guess you don't have to use defualt windows installed fonts

Yeah, but you still need to tell the game to use that font. I just don't remember which file does that :( I guess it could also be that the font goes in the install dir, but the file itself is part of a mod.

It failed..I added the font folder and changed the race font into the one I wanted but lie you said Annatar..no change was applied!

I'll see if I can figure out how to do it when I get home.

don't worry about it Annatar! I'll find a way! I wasted enough of your time today +_+ I'll let some other brave soul torment you with questions!
