[Bug] Heart of Life Mana Regeneration

Item Description

Use: Restore 3000 Health and 3000 Mana over 10 seconds. Any damage will break this effect.

+15 Health per Second

+50% Mana Per Second

Bug

The mana regen looks like it's giving more than 3000 mana. Some possibilities I can think of are.

  • The coded amount doesn't match the description.
  • Regen doesn't take into account mana used while the heart is activated.
  • Any percentage mana regen from items is amplifying the effect.

Taking damage will stop the regen as stated in the item description.

Test

TB with 600/3925 mana. Footman's Sabatons, Boots of Speed, Gauntlets of Despair, and Heart of Life as items. No Enhanced Attribute skills.

1. Activate Heart

2. Cast Rain of Ice III (900 Mana)

3. Cast Frost Nova I (750 Mana)

4. Cast Deep Freeze III (600 Mana)

5. TB ended with 3100+/3925 mana

Mana spent through spells :: 2250

Ending/starting mana difference :: 2500+

The heart is smelling a little bit like cheese with the 3000/3000 heal every 25 secs. Will have try it some more to see.

Not that cheesy, it's just a portable crystal of health, you can't really use it in combat, but you can use it to remain longer around the front line without the need to port back every time you run out of health/mana. The 4200 cost is just right.

But as you mentioned, something's wrong with it...my bet is your second thought "Regen doesn't take into account mana used while the heart is activated."

You have natural mana regen that is also in effect during the 10 seconds it is active, my assumption is the TB has 25 mana/second regen naturally?

The item merely adds 300 a second over 10 seconds additionally.
