[Bug?]Game won't start. No, I don't have Comodo.

No

I just preordered the game, and downloaded/installed beta 3, but when I try to start the game, absolutely nothing happens.  I've got XP 32 bit.  Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Aaronjw

EDIT-- I'm having some error messages come up now.  "Demigod.exe - Application Error.  The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occured in the application at location 0x00d1c22a"

Also: "Microsoft Visual C++  Runtime Library.  Runtime Error! Program C:\Program Files \Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe.  R6016 - not enought space for thread data"

Hope this helps.

Ok, if I press the "Run" button enough times, it will come up. But it takes about 30 times (probably an exaggeration, but you get the point).  When I actually get into a game, it's basically a slide-show, even playing me against 1 AI opponent.  Maybe I need to put this in a seperate thread, but thought I'd put it here just in case.

So, basically two problems:

1.  Takes about 30 attempts to get in to the game.

2. Game's unplayable once I actually get in.

What are your system specs and do you have your DirectX and Video Drivers up to date? One rare thing is that having a Logitech Webcam (with older drivers) or Goggle Desktop may cause a known issue in Demigod.

Dell Optiplex GX280 Intel

Pentium 4 CPU 3.60GHz

3.59GHZ, 2.00 GB of RAM.

My video card is: ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050.  I just updated it today, and DG still doesn't work.  It takes a ton of tries to start it, and is really slow once I get a game going, even me vs. 1 AI.  Tell me if you need any other info.

Oh, one other thing:  When I start a game, it runs pretty poorly, but it's playable.  But after a couple of minutes, it turns back into a slideshow.  Thought you might want to know.

EDIT-- Oh, I almost forgot:  I do have a Logitech webcam installed, but it's my brother's so I can't remove it.  Is there a fix to the problem it causes?  Or could you give me some more info on the problem it's known for occashionally causing?

Thanks,

Aaron

EDIT 2-- I have a 232 gig hard drive, with 22.1 gig free.  I'm thinking of getting a bigger hard drive.  Is it possible that would help?

It's fixed.  I updated the Logitech webcam driver like you said, and it starts every time now.

Now I just need to get it running smoothly...
