[Idea / Mod Request] - Visible asteroid habitation

Hi!

I've been lurking around these forums for a while now, downloading all sorts of wonderful mods, but one thing I haven't yet seen (maybe I simply haven't been looking closely) is a mod where asteroid habitation is a bit more distinct. Right now, when you colonize an asteroid, you can see very few signs that the place is actually inhabited..

What I'd like to see (and I'm sure there are others who agree) is something that looks more like the pirate base (except less spikey). Antennae, habitation modules, docking ports, etc., just something that shows like the place is alive and sprawling.. Now, I have no experience modding Sins of a Solar Empire (I've done some texture work on CivIV and Europa Universalis III), but if anyone likes this idea; please take it up and let us know!

This may be possible in entrenchment modding since it alows you to change meshes via research.  I don't have entrechment but if I ever get my hands on it I will be sure to add it into my mod Urban Expansion, I also think that this is something that asteroids need.

the thing is that an astroid doesn't have a visable atmosphere, and land mass, no contrast between ships, and land, also, i think it is too small for it

@XselenS: Ooh.. Now I'm definitely going to get Entrenchment! I was planning to anyway, but hearing that definitely seems to open up a whole new range of modification possibilities..

@dchan1936: I understand your point, but take a look at the pirate bases (in the core game) to see what I'm talking about. Imagine the interior of the asteroid as being somewhat hollowed out, with bits of visible habitation sticking out, or stuck to its sides. It's not so much in the range of the city lights on the planets, but more close-up, like bits and pieces of bases sticking out of the asteroid..

Lol Entrechment is awesome as far as modding goes, and when I get it be sure to see colonizable belts.  As for dChan1936 is comment, our own asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter has also been thought to be colonized.  Not for civilian purposes but for resource mining.  I realize sins already has this but my idea is to make a dwarf planet similar to Ceres in an asteroid belt and make that colonizable and then the belt would be a huge resource mining operation with some credit boosts as well.
