Both Sins

Is is possible when entrenchment comes out to have 1.00 and entrenchment at the same time?

You mean Vanilla Sins (1.00) and Entrenchment?

As one install no. But you could install Sins 1.00, copy the folder somewhere else and then let Entrenchment install over the top.

But I ask why would you want to. I tried 1.00 at Xmas (don't ask why - away from home with laptop and no patch) and it sucks compared to Sins now.

I think he means he wants to be able to select vanilla sins(whatever version) or entrenchment without having to uninstall or anything. And when entrenchment if officially released it should support that.

Well, that is different. The fact that 1.00 is specified suggests the OP wants original Sins, not patched Sins....

look does it really matter what version can this be done? perhaps on a seperate harddrive?

I have done a similar trick on one of my computers.

first install sins and update it to the version you want.

then copy the sins of solar empires directory to a new name eg sins 1.13

create a shortcut from  the sins of a solar empire exe in the new folder to the desktop and rename it so you know which one is when you want to run it

finally download & install te entrenchment beta.

hope this help

I already answered this in my first post - copy the folder with vanilla sins before installing Entrenchment over the top!!!

the settings will carry over between the versions, BUT the MODS are NOT compatible so should be loaded each time you start sins in the options/mods & DO NOT click on the tickbox to load the mod on startup of sins (ie make sure that the loadmod on startup is EMPTY.

what if it is between 1.00 and 1.13?

It might reset the settings each time you run the different versions. The format of the settings file has changed somewhat through the updates, so the game might just reset everything if it needs to.
