Bug?

I just got the full set and and have been obsessively playing through the campaigns over the past week but I've gotten to the mission in Twilight where you first get the Terror Star. The objective is to blow up the star, I believe its Robius, and take out the planet with all the shards. I've started the mission and done this several times but I always get the Defeated screen. Am I just stupid or is it a bug in the game?

You'll need to have a colony outside of the blast radius, assuming I'm remembering the mission correctly.

Aye, you are.  Up "north" is a system that isn't colonized yet.  Send a colony ship up there for an alpha site.
