Hi everyone, it´s my first post here. I´m not from an english-speaking country so please forgive any spelling or grammar mistakes
I´m a big fan of strategy games, both real-time and turn-based, so I´ve acquired this game four days ago. Recently beaten my first game vs 3 normal AIs, and after spending quite a bit of time I´m finally getting the hang of it. I must say the forums helped a lot and I wish to congratulate the devs for all the feedback they give to the fans. That´s rare indeed nowadays.
Now, my questions. I understand that due to its real time nature, there´s not a lot of diplomacy, economy and intelligence options as you have in other classic 4x space games. In fact I´m almost overwhelmed if the pace of the game, so much stuff happening at the same time... So, what´s the real focus of the game? Fleet management? Resource management?
Second, is it a SP or MP focused game? I must say I was quite dissapointed with the lack of a real cut-scene when you end a SP game, can´t understand why there isn´t any. I´ve enjoyed GalCiv´s cutscenes. A single "You won the game!" screen after playing a game for hours isn´t much incentive. In fact why I would want to play a game vs, say, 6 or 8 opponents in a large map? Doesn´t it get repetitive after a while? Once you researched all techs and maxed all your capitals, it simply becomes a "send fleet there, create mores ships here and send them to destroy more planets" game. Maybe I ´m spoiled by playing too much turn based games, but the lack of (apparent) depth bothers me.
So, what´s the best way to enjoy the game?
