demigod msrp 39.99

I notice the retail price of Demigod is $39.99 at gamestop and amazon.   I always thought this game was $50.  I guess this puts it closer to other deathmatch arena pricetag games.

I wish the download was also $39.  I actually thought I was saving $5 when I bought the digital copy.

We charge MSRP; retailers typically charge less at their own discretion. Competing with them on price makes them unhappy (which leads to games not getting stocked) so instead we just offer direct orders the Collector's Edition (which generally has very limited retail availability), so you get more goodies for buying direct.

Very strange to see any game start out at $39.99 instead of $49.99.

~$50 seems to be the industry standard for any full release computer game.

I agree this is strange.  Any reason for the lower pricepoint?  Almost all games start at $49.99 on PC for atleast the first month after release.  Why are you guys pricing this cheaper?  I won't argue with a fair price, but I also want you to make money.  Is brad and others' focus hoping a 20% off reduction at launch will get more people online initially and create a strong multiplayer base that will then make you more cash via micro-expansions?  Just confused on this pricepoint.

One of the dev diaries shows an early mock up of the plastic rook figurine.  We will also get a Demigod MyColors Theme.  There may be other goodies, but that is all we know of at this point.

Don´t like the mycolors theme goody. I like my desktop that way as it is :)

Not sure the boxart is done yet.  When it is they will post it in dev diary.

So if I pre-order the physical media directly from this site, I get the CE?  Please verify because if this is the case I'm ordering NOW!

Yes, this is the case.  It's weird because they don't mention that it's the CE at all at the stardock shop.

The boxed+digital download is CE.    I'm not sure if the download only version is CE, maybe you get the demigod theme (virtual goods) but no action figure (physical goods).

Stardock games tend to be $39.95 retail (GalCiv, Sins, etc.).

The Collector's Edition is $49.95 which is what beta testers get.

$5 pricedrop for the digital download.  It used to be $45.  Now it's $39.95 just like retail.
