Impulse doesn't recognize Sins installation/download!

Afraid to not be able to download/install future updates.

Hey guys,

I just bought sins of a solar Empire via the website!

I register the key on impulse and begin to download/extract/install it

but when the installation is finished, the ''install'' button reappears and it says product available to install.

I click on it again, thinking that maybe that was an update, but no.

Impulse try to Download and Reinstall the game completly, but the files are all installed in the stardock folder and i'm able to play the game with no trouble.

My only concern was that I can't install the bonus pack( it says: The path registry value at HKEY_LOCALMACHINE/Software/stardock/drengin.net/sins appears to be blank. Please make sure you have the  game installed. This update installation will now exit) and i'm afraid to not be able to download and install the future updates of the game(like the final version of entrenchment) because Impulse doesn't ''see'' that Sins is installed correctly.

Thanks for your time, hoping you guys can help me.

Jonathan

That's somewhat strange. It should write the registry entries when it installs. You should probably toss [email protected] an email about this. I would not worry about patches, though. Impulse automatically downloads the latest version and when you patch through it it just checks your files against the modified patch files. So, as long as Impulse itself sees that it's installed, you should be ok.

Would still be a good idea to check with support on it and see what's up, though.

Try right clicking on it and hitting Verify Installation. With your fist.

Did you register the cd key in Impulse? It only shows the products you've got registered.

Yep, SOA is shown in my product list...

Have you tried just uninstalling it and re-downloading the whole thing from Impulse, then? The 1.1 patch is pretty large anyway for going from 1.05 to.. so the full game download won't be all that much bigger. :P

All of the content in the "bonus pack" is already included in the Impulse install of the game, so it is not needed (and in fact will break it if you did install it over a newer version anyway, since it is basically an older patch).

In any case, it does sound like the registry just isn't getting written correctly. If you've already tried running Impulse as an admin and made sure to accept any UAC prompts, please contact [email protected] for further help.
