Maximized program and od problem

Hey im kind of a noob to OD, but i picked up stuff real fast and have a totally cool looking dock and stuff now.

My only problem is that, When ever i open a prog from the dock and then maximize it, The dock disappears. That is not the problem, The problem is...When i go back to the desktop either by minimizing or closing the programme the dock does not come back automatically....It gets auto-hidden and then i have to untick autohide....All this happens even though i have selected the "Keep on top and hide when an application is maximized".

I really need you to help me solve this.
