What kind of editing did you have in mind?

This is not what WindowBlinds is meant to do, it, by applying skins, replaces the windows skin.

I only want to make the taskbar fully transparent (eventually only when windows aren't maximized), but with my startbutton/programs/tray icons/clock still visible.
Something like this:

but then with the standard aero skin of windows vista.

I know WB has this transparency option for all the other skins, but not for the areo skin...

Selecting Areo in WB config on Vista, same as selecting default XP skin on XP, turns WB off.

Find one of the hundreds of Vista clone skins that are out there, use it and adjust taskbar as you want it.

I do not think that this is possible.

I don't beleve you can do anything about it. SD might have an agreement with MS that the Aero skin is not to be altered...something like an OEM agreement. I could be wrong, though.

You can ask at tech support (Seabass might know) or one of the Mods (HG_E maybe, because he's a skinner).

Hope this helped. :)

Almost all of them are designed for windows XP en they look very bad in vista :(

There are also other solutions: glass2k, a simpel program that handles the transparency of your taskbar, but that makes eveything (but the startbutton) transparent, including the active programs/tray icons...

Mayby someone has an alternative for this ?
