New Flag Types
1. Destination Flag
When controlled, any friendly Demigod may teleport to it 'free of charge'. Would require an onscreen button that displays a countdown timer before the ability may be utilized again.
Initial capture of a Destination flag would require that countdown to complete before teleporting may commence. Resets each time flag is captured.
Kind of a beachhead spawn point concept, get to the front quickly (or to wherever that Destination flag happened to be).
2. Channel Flag
Capture of this flag would open up *or* close off a pathway on the map.
If it opens up a path, maybe said path is a beeline deep into enemy defenses. If it closes off an avenue of the map, perhaps it obstructs a route to another critical flag point for the enemy.
I could envision a sort of "Facing Worlds" (think UT series) map full of strong walled defenses that could be bypassed to some degree by control of a Channel flag.
A forest-themed map might feature roots and bramble that rise up to block a corridor (units therein displaced, *not* slain), for example. This would be a fairly wild idea requiring specially designed maps.
3. Sorcery Flag
Previously I`ve mentioned something like this - a flag that grants a special ability. Maybe this ought to be called "Sorcery II" flags. Anyway, *this* flag would simply offer the controlling player the opportunity to acquire an ability for a large sum of gold. The ability would be single use, requiring re-purchase each time it was used.
The purchase would allow for this ability to be of considerable power & consequence. An example might be a global Minion Petrification spell, turning to stone all enemy Minions everywhere (slaying them of course). A price of 5000 gold could be the right neighbourhood. Another example would be a Minion/Creep Gateway enhancement, which doubles the numbers and the health of Minions emerging from that particular Gateway (lasts half as long as the ability takes to recharge).
Capture of this particular flag should take a long time... perhaps twice as long as any regular flag takes.
If the flag is captured by the enemy, any purchased power tied to that flag is lost/forfeit. The gold paid is not refunded.
The ability would become available to all friendly players whose teammate purchased it: anyone could activate it. A.I. players would not use it if a human player was participating on their side.
