Will JU survive?

Will JU survive?

The current consensus seems to be that once this election is over, a lot of blog sites will cease to exist, because people will have nothing left to talk about.

Will JU fall prey to this phenomenon?  Are we really so politically charged that once the results are in we all shut up and fade away?

I don't think so.  I think that the people here are multi-faceted.  I think that there is more to us than our political persuasions.  I think the the JU community is strong now, has been strong, and will be stronger after all's said and done election-wise.

Besides, there's still the results to dispute.....:)

The sense of community is still here, it's just smothered by other, more pressing, issues

I noticed that too.  We're all still here, but we have a slightly different focus these days....

I think a lot of peopel will feel more comfortable wandering back in once the rabid few have gone on to play Grand Theft Auto, or kick puppies, whatever it is they do during non-election years...

I've always wondered what it is they do with themselves when they're not being trolls...I'm looking forward to the troll population decreasing though!

piss on email, i think its time for a phone call....email me with your # or email me and ill send mine.

You've got mail...

Oh, and I'd like to say congrats to Brad and crew...there were lots of reports of blog sites going down last night due to overwhelming traffic, and whilst JU was pretty busy, it didn't crash (that I'm aware of, anyway).

Blog on, mes amies...........

Hey Dharma
No JU will live long and prosperous. Like you I think the community at the moment is a strong one especially since all the hatred has gone, people are starting to become more themselves.
Im in Sydney at the moment. Ive been meeting up with the guy I was talking with you about. Oh My God! I think I am in love! He is a total honey.
Talk more when I get back. I hope all is ok with you love P..
btw.. just a note to you and LW.. I think Australia needs more PI's...*hint* *hint*

I think that while some of the solely political bloggers may go away, many would just shift their focus to attacking/defending the President. I think this might be more prevalent amongst his detractors, as it's always easier to go on the offense in these situations.
Personally, with a reduced amount of political talk, I might actually write some articles again. I just felt that the signal to noise ratio was small (my signal to the political noise, in this case).
