How come downloaded maps dont work>?

Hi all. I've download some maps but they dont work. I.E. I downloaded a map (our next stars) and put it into the galaxy folder and the other file into the texture folder but when I start sins I can find the map anywhere. I tried to open the map file with galaxy forge but when it opened the map was blank. What am I doing wrong?

What version of the game are you running (Impulse will tell you, or look into the bottom right corner in the games main menu).

Now open the .galaxy file with a text editor and check the "versionNumber" at the very top. it has to be 2 if you play 1.1 or later, 1 if you play 1.05 or earlier. Just edit it and save the file (check if the text editor appends .txt after the .galaxy and correct that if needed).

Check that the version of the map is given as "2" in the map file - just open it in a text editor like notepad.
