Impulse_setup will not download, "file source cannot be read"

I purchased sins online and downloaded it, it runs well and I can update to 1.05 on stardocks site, however when I try and use impulse as directed in the update link, I can only download the first few megs of the setup file before receiving a message that "file cannot be saved because source file cannot be read/verified" or something to that effect in my download manager.

If I could get some assistance upgrading to 1.1 I'd appreciate that, thanks.

 

Running winXP on a 2 year old Dell desktop, mozilla firefox browser, all updated, virus/registry software disabled for download.

4 Days later. This still doesn't work for me. Is there anyone actually on this site from Impulse to lend a hand?

Make sure you're downloading from the following link:

http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup.exe

Just downloaded the setup file myself to check to make sure it's working.  If this does not resolve your problem, try using IE7 as it's unlikely to have any add-ons that might possibly be interrupting your download.

No go, that's the same link I've been using, and when I use IE7 it just says "connection to server reset" at the same point in the download, around 13% into it, 796Kb downloaded and 1min50sec to go becomes infinite.

Hmm, I don't know what to suggest next other than it sounding like there's something wrong with your internet connection.  Regardless, I'll bump in hopes that someone else sees this and can be more helpful.

As that download goes through cachefly, it's possible that the download is damaged on the server nearest your location but not elsewhere. If you contact [email protected] they can get you a copy of the file manually and have someone look into it.

I just redownloaded a 2gig game perfectly from d2d, so my internet connection seems fine, I'll try contacting stardock support directly, and check periodically to see if anyone has any further suggestions. Still broken btw.
