I love to watch my husband shave.

He knows it, and indulges me. 

The ritual, the routine...it fascinates me. 

The way he turns his head this way and that, cranes his neck, tilts his jaw...all in an effort to rid himself of the last elusive whiskers.  The way the blade makes a clean swath across his face, the specks that are left in the sink.....the pins of blood that bloom pink into the foam should he be careless enough to nick himself. 

The smell and feel of his newly shaved skin as he presses his face to mine when he's done....there's nothing quite like it. 

Some of the best conversations we've had have been conducted in our bathroom, him with razor in hand and me perched on the toilet seat lid. 

There's something about watching him shave that I love.

Yes, and they're not always mine....I like watching other people go about their daily business.  It's interesting to me the habits that people get into...like me, for example.  First thing in the morning, I have a routine, and disrupting that routine makes me feel like I'm not quite right for the rest of the day.

I like to people watch, I guess.

I love watching people go thru their little routines too..like just putting or their shoes or making coffee or whatever. I' m so nosy.

I felt like this conveyed real love without being all smushy and cliched. It's writing about all those little things that add up to the person you love that I find most poignant.

my wife and I are lucky enough to work at the same school, so we have our morning routine -- it's almost holy...Mikey gets up, showers, then turns off the alarm so Amy doesn't have to hear it...then we chat about whatever crazy dreams we had...great post, Dharma, you got me thinking, so Imma give this *insightful*

Isn't it fun to think about those special moments with your significant other? My fiance and I have moments like that right before we fall asleep. Actually, since he's away, I miss those moments more and more!

I also love to watch Him sleep...its the only time His face is totally relaxed and peaceful looking...and listen to Him breathe, and yes, snore. It doesnt bother me a bit.

Yanno, I yearned to hear him snore when he was gone.....now that he's back, it irritates me, but I still find it incredibly comforting.
