Having a research modifier apply only to one specific ship!

Quick question, is their a way to specify a research to one vessel and NOT THE ENTIRE VESSELS!!! In this case the SiegeVessel that this tech unlocks and boosts and whos modifiers are applying to ALL SHIPS instead of just him!

as far as i know its not possible to have it linked to a specific ship. as far as weapon research goes, it references a type of weapon, as far as anything elce goes, it buffs all.

The only way to do it is to make everything unique. Unique ship, weapons, build slot, armor, and only 1 ship of that type that ce built. So if your want 5 ships liek that your need to make 5 unique ships and have all of their traits that need to be unique unique. Hell of a job. You'll quickly runout of build slots.

Perhaps a cheap research unlocking an ability that costs resources? I'm not sure how much you could do with an ability though.
