Consistant lan desync

Over the past week my friend and I have been playing lan Sins entrenchment over Hamachi. Every time we play, the game eventually desyncs, although no notification is given; we simply find discrepencys between our games. (i.e. one of us will see a gravity well full of enemy ships, while the other sees the same gravity well, except empty) Generaly, there are no indications of network problems prior to the desync, and the desyncs do not seem to appear at any specific time. Following the desync, the machine takes control of my units on his computer, and his units on my computer, and assigns them AI. It also bears noting that I have an intel chipset, while my friend has an AMD chipset. If there are any more tests that we need to perform, or information that needs to be provided, I will be happy to oblige. Both of our entrenchment versions are current as of December 30, 2008. Our system specs are as follows:

Player 1:

Apple Macbook pro fourth generation

Intel dual core 2.5 ghz processor

4 gb ddr2 ram

Nvidia 8600 GT video card

OS: Windows XP SP2

 

Player 2:

Homebrew X 86 box (custom built computer)

4400+ AMD athlon X2 dual core 2.2 ghz processor

2 gb ddr1 ram

Nvidia 8400 GS low profile video card

OS: Windows XP professional SP2

You aren't alone on the desync - I've had the same symptoms in 3 player games via iconline (happened two out of three games I've played with that group)... I'd be surprised if many others haven't seen the same thing.

The behaviour that I saw was beyond a simple desync, as we were still able to pass credits/resources around, and was even able to have my teammate's Vasari ships built  as part of my TEC fleet (when we both had frigate factories around the same planet (I saw it as owned by me, he saw it as owned by him), so the my game was still recognizing his actions (when I built TEC ships (2 copies created, one for my teammate, one for me), they came out of his Vasari frigate factory).
