[Opinion] Vasari Dark/Returning Armada

In finally playing the Vasari I was dismayed to see that the cost for the dark/returning armada now has a substantial cost associated to it for each stabilizer per use.

The cost for the research, time, and resources is prohibitive to make this something that I would want to stive to get if I know I am going to have to pay such an outrageous sum each time.  Especially since you can probably make them quicker and cheaper (given the appropriate upgrades).

Can anyone tell me if the kostura and novalith cannons have a cost too?  If not, then I call BS.  I know that many people have complained about the dark/returning being overpowered.  Howver the time, resources and cost are incredible to then have to pay to use each individual stabilizer.  Not to mention with the other race's research (TEC, for example), the research required to obtain their super weapon is inline with helping their ships offensive capabilities.

I understand and agree that the Vasari's perk is with phasing and hence the research into the stabilizer's which is a nice thing to have in a pinch.  But I am having to pay for the research, the stabilizer and now each use of the ability (which I don't know is an across the board thing or not).

I would recommend either:

1) a much smaller continual cost (or no cost  )

2) a one time lump sum to "activate" the ability on each stabilizer and then no or very very small cost per use.  Akin to installing the appropriate hardware, software, and all the super duper, but overly priced cables and making sure you had the alien squad install it correctly with the extended warranty that you'll never need...

Why are you comparing this ability to the cannons when the Vasari have their own version as well?  Second, why should additional ships be free?

This was changed in v1.1.  It is a welcome change, and as many people have pointed out, it is a great savings late game.  It basically gives you ships at 60% cost.

Not to mention essentially instantaneous builds.  With the cooldown, you'll need more than one phase stabilizer to supply your fleet with enough ships, but seriously, weren't you going to build them everywhere anyway?

You can't build ships on your own cheaper, and you can't build them faster.  You still get something out of it-it's just not free anymore.
