Alright, I know this doesn't intirely concern modding.

BUT!

This does concern the modding comunity specificly, which is why I posted this here.

 

I have recently receiced a Message from ShadowMastiff, saying that I am allowed to make a post announcing his stupidity.

 

This is precisly what he messaged me,

"FFS I'm bloody stupid!!! Damn man, I allow you to write and entire thread on my stupidity!"

 

So, I am compling with his request.

Shadow, if you deny this, my clan will declare war on you, not that you'd probably ever notice.

 

 

Unfortunatly, I have no exact examples of ShadowMastiff's stupidity, as such, we can make stuff up.

Ask Kiedjor....he probably knows thousands of screw ups I've encountered in my early codding days!

*Ahhh the good old days...spending hours swearing like a moron, getting like 20 minidumps a minute 'cus I was too bloody stupid to see that the error message was telling me the EXACT place and type of error I made. And so I spent litteraly 5 hours going through all my files trying to find the error...I eventually did and on that day I learned a valuable lesson which even today (1 month later) applies to perfection!

RTFQ...well in this concept is more like RTFR!

Ie. Read The Fu.king Question becomes in Sins...Read The Fu.king Report :)

Hows that for a starter example! And thats not talking about the time I accidentaly deleted my entire mod into oblivion and then proceeded to erase my OSs garbage bin!!

yes, I remeber trying to mod without sins developer. ALL guess work.

Much better now.

Fortunatly, i've never deleted my mod.

 

Which is one reason I avoid emptying my garbage bin whenever I am on a large project.

Does anyone know if i can use the developer.exe to resize the mesh files? NewBoerg has a tool that does it for 1.05 meshes which is very very cool, but of course i have already updated to 1.12 and i cant use it now.  :(  Anyway i am trying to double the size of some of the ships in the game to make "Heavy Capitals".

The meshes between 1.05 and 1.1 are the same.

 

How are you connecting the Developer program to resizing meshes?

Developer.exe is just a special way to play sins.

Hi EvilTesla,

                        Im not connecting the two, i was trying to use the resize tool, but it will not work with the 1.12 version of the game i have. It worked for the older versions, but not this one. As to developer.exe, i have never used it, but have seen many modders refer to using it to make their mods. I thought perhaps it could resize some meshes, or not, but wanted to ask. Maybe im way off base here.

wow, I can't imagine what modding would be like without the developer!

 

no, it does not resize meshes, lol.

 

It is perhaps, currently, the most usefull tool available to sins modders. It is a de-bugging program. Will go through and check all your files for errors, and that is just the start.

 

It is especialy usefull in speeding up testing, as during a game, you can open up a menu that allows you to spawn ships, track where buffs are, and thousands of other usefull little things.

 

I sugetst you get VERY well aquainted with it.

Personally, I'd never marry a computer program.

LOL, This mini dump i'm getting is driving me insane!!! I have no clue how to figure out what's causing it though. It's every 10 minutes, but I don't think it's the minidump in original sins as I never got it before with settings to highest. I tried changing them to high and medium but I still get it.

 

Must be an ability or something the computer  AI is using.
