I cant create or join a game

I am running windows vista, when I first installed the game I was able to create a game and play, I played 3 or 4 games, then all of the sudden I can create or join one, but it stops at the loading screen, I have let it sit there for a half hour, and still nothing, I even uninstalled the game, then reinstalled, but I still get the same problem.

oh one more thing, when I hit alt f4 it asks me if I realy want to quit, but the buttons dont work.

Do you by any cahnce have a non-english Windows or username with accented characters in it?

i originally thought that too, but since he's played before it won't be it.

it appears there's accented letters in the 'Local Settings' folder for some languages. this needs tending to.
