Problems selecting TEC colony frigates in main screen

i don't know if there is a reason for this, but i am playing as the TEC and i can't select colony frigates unless i click on each one individually(and hold SHIFT to group together). I keep trying to left click and drag to select multiple units to create a fleet, and all units are selected except colony frigates.

Thats because most people dont want colony frigs in their fleet. You can Shift Click them to add them to the current selection, but I for one like them not automatically being included
