Please Fix Impulse

Stardock, please fix or kill Impulse (and then we could return to Stardock Central which actually worked reliably).

 

I used to use Stardock central on my three computers.  One at home running XP Pro, one at work running XP Pro, and a notebook, running Vista.  It worked fine on all three.  I never had a problem with it.

Since switching to Impulse, I've had consistent problems on all three computers.  A good friend of mine who plays Sins, also has had problems on two of his (two out of two no less).  I can usually massage it to eventually work, but every time I have to check for an update, I cross my fingers and hope for the best.  I'm surprised when it actually works like it should.  Most of the time it doesn't.  Often it won't even load on the first try or it just hangs.

Please fix this mess of a program or take us back to Stardock Central.  I really like your products, but my "Impulse" is to start looking for my software somewhere else where I don't have these kinds of constant problems with buggy, poorly written software.

Weird, I've never really had any problems with Impulse.  Of course, I never had any issues with SDC either.  The one weird thing that Impulse does is that it usually doesn't start the first time I run it.

First thing to try. . turn off fast start. (Click on teh orb)

Second, after doing that, if it fails, click nthe ? in the upper right and select the error log.  Send the last error to [email protected] so they can fix whatever is broken.

More info would be helpful since Impulse seems to work very well for most people. I'm not aware of any significant issues with it.

I would love if some one would send a video of how Impulse does not work, for me it works like a charm, downloaded and installed Entrenchment in 3 minutes and that was fast for 1gb of data over the internet.

The only problem I've ever had with it is when it checks the download before installing.  This usually takes between 30 and 45 minutes, unless I exit out and go back in, and then it works lickity split.

 

Other than that I'd say impulse works great, and is one of the better game/patch delivery systems.

I experienced a lock-up in the "verify" phase a couple times and had to exit and re-start Impluse to continue operations.  This was with the older version of Impulse with the orange background.  Otherwise, I haven't had any problems with it.  I disable the fast-start.  It loads a ton of stuff on system startup with that enabled.  BTW, I really liked that orange/black background, wouldn't mind seeing it again.

I am having the same issue. When i load the program it gets hung up for a while. I cancel the process in task manager than reload and it works the second time. I think it may have something to do with impulse updating.

I have no problems at all with Impulse. It updates with no problems and I have had no problems with game updates.

i got 2 friends who cant get it to work. friend 1. Impulse wont recognize his cdkey. (i told him to contact support). friend 2. his impulse wont even start up. its in the processes running but no matter what he does it wont start up. just the splash screen. (tried helping him but he gave up and said f*ck it). as for me. sometimes it hangs when starting up. i just disabled that fast start option to see, just now. anyway im just letting the devs know about the problems we have encountered :D

most of you say you dont have much problems i have one problem wicth effects alot for me! i dont know if a solution has been found. When i even try to open impulse it comes up with an error when i try to send the error report an error comes up with the error not leting me send it at all! i reinstalled the game along with impulse and still he same thing happens over and over again! iam posting alot of this issue on many other impulse related problems hoping that someone will help me to fix this issue. i have windows 7 and other people do to and it works fine for the.

 

Plzz if you have any idea how this can be resolved post a solution
