Few questions

Hey all,

Just bought this game about a week ago and have been thoroughly enjoying it.  My apologies if these have been asked elsewhere but I briefed through the manual and the forum and didn't not see them.  Here are my questions:

1) What does this auto-fleet ability do?  I have enabled it on ships but can't figure out what it is doing.  I was hoping that they would join one of my "ctl" groups but that doesn't seem to be the case.

2) Is there a way to have ships that are built in a certain factory to be automatically set to certain characteristics?  For example, I want all ships built out of a certain factory to be set to attack "local area" rather than "gravity well."  This would help with microing on my part...

3) Any way to tell if other players are allied with each other?  It's a bit annoying to ask an AI ally to help me defend a planet just to find that he is sitting there and waiting... finally figured it out when I asked him to attack them directly and he said something of the sort that "he won't attack an ally."

fleets move as 1 unit in battle

ctrl grps are just for moving around the map

you can have multiple fleets in 1 ctrl grp

nope, this is not possible atm, but we hope it will be at some point

AI and diplomacy is not that well implemented ( the 2'nd mini x-pack will flesh out this part of the game)

 

heh you pretty much just pointed out the 3 flaws in this otherwise great game. But have faith in the nice dev's to fix it at some point, they're really good at getting feedback
