just plain white block instead of normal background

I just got this game and I've got two problems: 1. a white screen for it that I think is slowing it down, and 2. installation is still funky and won't start appropriately after the so called "patch". Hoping for a developer response on the forums.
I am also having the same problem. Updated my Video Drivers from 181.??? to 182.02 (Nvidia 9800 GTX) The game plays fine if you know what all the menus are, odd thing is the new fortification menu does not have the white box, the only menu button in the game that doesn't have the box. So I know it isn't the drivers, any suggestions would be great. Thanks,
