How do I download the s/w I bought - not the same thread!

So I chipped up for Windowblinds. Perhaps I've made a mistake. Apparently Stardock doesn't equate the "good life" to being limted to dailuip. The purchase requirements include downloading and installing "IMPULSE" - something that has so far proven absolutely useless. I don't care about my Nvidia drivers, or any of the games I can purchase...I don't really care to clutter my system up with Impulse either...and unless I need it after getting my copy of windowblinds, I'll be taking it off my system. I just want my software. I purchased Windowblinds Sunday and have yet to see an shred of communication from Stardock as to my account name, number, serial number or any of the other information required to link my purchase to my Impulse account...

Is Stardock even a legitimate company? I'm surprise by all the "hoops" I have to jump through to get what I've paid for the liscense to use.

What menthod of payment did you use, CC, DC or PayPal?

Yup, Stardock is a legitimate company.

They do send out emails confirming purchases.  Have you checked you junk email and spam fllter, sometimes because of how we have our computers set up they get sent there.  If it's been more than 48 hours email [email protected].  Give them all the information that was used to make the purchase.  They can check it out and send you another confirmation.

You can also sign into IRC in the Stardock channel and ask for sales assistance.  They are work and open business from 9am to 5pm EST.

You will want to have Impulse as that will be the means for you getting your free updates to WindowBlinds for the coming year.

the serial should have shown up in an email - you can also check your 'my account' here, then registrations

I got Impulsively tired a while back - I couldn't get it to work

found out it's cuz I'm on rural dialup using an accelerator = had to fiddle with the proxy settings and now have to disable the accel then open impulse to use it - can't turn the accel back on until impulse is done

unfortunately Stardock doesn't seem to be including the updates in SDC as frequently or often as Impulse

Impulse will tell you when there's an update to any purchase apps - you can also use Impulse to archive your current version before you try the new version - that way if the new version screws with you, you can uninstall it (using impulse) then use impulse to restore the saved archive

Looks like Mel got your support e-mail.  You can always go to stardock.com/support and have the information sent to you.  You can also log in here:

WC Registrations

To get all your registration info (this is good if you think you may have spam filters blocking our e-mails).  Other than that, you should be able to log into Impulse and have everything show up for you.  The software will be listed under the "My Desktop" tab.  As a dial-up user, Impulse is a good thing to have around, as it's actually getting you compressed install information, so less downloading.  Also, if updates are avaiable, Impulse will only grab the files needed to be updated, and not the whole application, again saving on download time.  Finally, if something should happen during the download, Impulse will let you resume it, so no wasted time downloading information you already have.  If you REALLY do not want to have Impulse installed, once you have WindowBlinds downloaded and installed you can remove it, but I would highly recommend keeping it around.
