Stardog Contest - Tuesday, Dec. 16th

A suggestion for the competition. How about, instead of getting rid of the dog clues on the pages when the game is done for the day, instead putting up a new message stating the contest is over so you don't have to keep hunting for the dog who is no longer on any page?

 

further, if you are doing some kind of sweepstakes with the people who did get the clues, why not leave the clues up all day with the initial winner being the one who found them the fastest, and the rest of us get a fighting chance for the booby-prize?

I am wondering, the tracker says that 400 people got to clue #5 (i dont even find the third). But there isnt a winner yet? Or are you just waitng more people find the solution?

Never mind. I was at the right site but the dog didnt appear there util now.

Yes i am. And the stardog page doesnt show a winner for me. Maybe they didnt take them away already.

 

Anyway i find the stardogs rather buggy. one didnt show up to me until 3 hours later and sometimes they stay on the screen even after loading another page. I am still missing the last one but i wonder if it makes any sense to search since it could just be a bug again. And i am using firefox 3 with javascript enabled.

ctrl f5 is the key to the bugs. Refresh the page and it works. Bugs probably caused by a cache issue with your browser.



Personally I prefer it with a random drawing. I believe it makes it more fair for everybody. I was off work yesterday and was able to play shortly after the game started. However I was working today and don't have internet access at work which the older way would have eliminated me immediately.

 

Maybe, but i never visited some sites before so i dont know where i could even get the wrong cache data from.

ok, miraculously the dogs reappeared. I finished the puzzle and went back to the stardog page but the chart vanished now. did stardock take it down? or is it ff3 that is causing all the problems with vanishing dogs and charts?

I think it's got something to do with the way the dog is coded for the game. There are some sights that I haven't visited either however the dog is still there. A quick refresh and he disappears.

i cant even solve the first clue - is this stardock pages? wincustomize pages? skins? im lost... mabye i should read the page some more... :NOTSURE:

Ok, since people are already posting some hints: go to the mycolors page and then click on NHL.

This game is a lot of fun and a cute marketing concept from Stardock, but its not at all fair, why? because at least 2 of the five clues answers can be found here in the forum and the contest is still running...potentially the winner could be someone who dident even complete the game on their own, how is that fair to those who finished quickly and found the answers themselves?

I would rather think that there were some technical issues and thats why no winner was announced yet. Yesterday the fastest one was the winner and i guess it will stay this way.

 

 

Hmm the rules clearly state that the winner will be randomly drawn from a pool of people that completed the game. I dont really care...but it seems a bit off, of course they also state that they can change the rules at will.

Yeah well, this is clearly in favor for people who follow every news and know stardocks products. The first one isnt that hard. Just try more links .

The third one stumped me, but oh well at least I could play this time, not like how it was first run.

Wow, first time I see this and am totally confused as to how to play. Am I suppose to check every site linked to Stardock in order to find the dog based on the clues I find?
