Changing xp folder images

G'Day all

Firstly, congrats to all participants in GUIC08 - great stuff in there.

I want to change images in my music, video & photos folders (many skins don't have an image and some really good images I would like to include in these skins). I have WB 6 and Skin Studio 6 Pro but I'm new at this & am having difficulty getting a different image into the folders(s). I have included the image in the skin folder I'm working on but I wonder if I have to physically alter the code as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

If this is what I think your talking about, open the skin of your choice in Skinstudio then select XP specific sections. When the new window opens, select +Xp specific, +Shellstyle, then the images will be in +Movies Logo(Large). That is the image that is displayed in window when you open that folder, (Small) is the image that shows on the right side of the text in the Pane where it says Movie Tasks. Then its the same for Music Logo, Picture Logo and Search Logo.

If your making a completely new image then you might have to import it from the folder you saved it in which should have been C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Stardock\Windowblinds\ (the WB you working on)\shstlargefilm.bmp

I hope this is what you were talking about:)

If you have already manually added the images to the skin folder, then they will appear in the drop down menu/ combo box in the centerof Skinstudio'd interface. Simply select the image you want used in that drop down menu. Now Apply to see the image.

The upper left pixel has to match the background color of the windows for the images to show.

They do not work at all with skins that use transparent backgrounds.

I guess that works, but I have found that skinstudio 6 pro shows the old image in the (drop down) if you have replaced the image and used the same name for it while working on the blind, that is why I suggested the import feature to refresh the image in the drop down list.

Is that specific to the drop down list images ?  I have found that a magic pink pixel in the upper left solves that problem in other areas.
