Nick-ing my nickname!

Alright, this may seem a little petty, but it's a simple problem with dyslexia.

My nickname is APDELONG31, not APEDLONG31. If you're going to shorten my name (which is understandable, it's kind of long), perhaps say "apd". If you are so inclined to say "ape", there better not be any question in my mind as to whether it's used in a derogatory manner. Myrrander, you are excused from your post in which you called me "ape", I don't think it was meant in poor taste.

Just clearing that up.

I've probably called you ape before. No harm intended. I'm not dyslexic, but I do get in a hurry sometimes. You have my sincere apology and from now on I will call you "A31," sound good?

That sounds superb.

It erked me the first time I was called "ape" by someone who I knew wasn't in a hurry, and then I saw it again and just thought I'd throw out some clarifications.

I actually sometimes read it in my head as appledong (although, I've never posted it that way and don't mean it meanly - it's an accident of reading too fast and comprehending too slowly). But I also had a problem reading Myrrander's first nic incorrectly, too! Something about smashed together letters that don't necessarily go together regularly makes me not read them correctly. My brain just doesn't read them right and I end up thinking it's something else at first glance.

No...(yes, it was pretty bad) ...but I did find a pear that's shaped like a butt at the commissary.  So, of course, I bought it....I'll see if I can take a decent pic of it to post.

Just make sure you take the pic before the pear gets overripe... there's nothing people hate more than bad pear of butts...

in my head, i dont think of you as "chip-R-J" it comes out as "chipperjay" like some gay, happy bird or something!


My nic started as chip and RJ being put together (two real nicknames for me) and when I tell people my email address, I spell it out as chip R J. But, after years of using it, I usually pronounce it in my head as chipperjay in my head, too!

And you should see my plumage in the Spring!

Well you could always call "appledong", Andy, for that appears to be his name which he also responds to....perhaps it twould be easier that way?
