OH, OHIO, DESTINY IS CALLING

A Call To Prayer

The tension of watching the Yankee-RedSox Series (wasn't that awesome?) has nothing on this election coming up this Tuesday. Originally from the greater-Boston area, it held me like glue. Especially after last year's series where the younger Sox fans found out why many former 'believers' switch allegiance to the Yanks. The gloom in New England was thicker than....ohhh, let's say pea soup. I wanted to say 'than Kerry-Edwards supporters...but I wont. I don't want to stray from my original intent on writing this 'call to prayer'. You Republican folks out there in Ohio must have a great weight of pressure on you. I hope I might relieve that pressure somewhat with these words of encouragement.
Back to the A.L.C.S. As you know, the Sox were down 3 to 0 games, and up against stats that said very loudly, "NEVER'!!! I talked with my mom and she informed me that she had the Rosary Beads out for every game. That's cool. However, I didn't know if God would act favorably to my request for RedSox victory, for surely I might use my prayer time for more noble objectives. A friend from Sierra Leonne once informed me that when something simmilar occured in his hometown, the population would get together for some sort of sacrifice to be made on a grand scale. That's cool too, but I don't see it happenin' around here that way. Still, I kept finding myself invoking God's name every game...but putting the brakes on to asking Him to ..y'know..interfere. I must admit this was 'hard braking' in them extra innings of game 5. So, what I came up with was to praise God for giving us such a wonderful sport. For the wonderfuly rich emotions we get to share by being loyal fans, the ups and the downs, I thanked Him, and said how great it would be if the Sox could do it. I believe God can do all things far and above anything we might ask of Him, and part of His nature is to please us. So I just let Him know, y'know? How pleased I would be if the 'miracle' could be worked.
Well, my good Ohioans, this election is much greater in importance than those seven wonderful games, and I tell you that prayer for Republican victory is prayed by this 'fan' everyday. And I continue to praise God for our country and the awesome political system that our founding fathers have given to us as an inheritance. Therefore, I urge you all to pray that God will continue to bless us with Godly leadership in the years ahead. Praise Him that you live in Ohio and get out and vote! God bless the Republican's in Ohio. Amen."

GOD ISN'T GOING TO PICK SIDES!!!

If Kerry wins, does that mean God fucked up? Or is our country being overcome by the curtain of Satan, most certainly spiralling into a cornucopia from hell?

but try to stick with the 'baseball' theme?

presumably an equal number (based on the pollster's numbers) are praying for each candidate.  when one inevitably gets 'shut out', does that mean the big umpire has 'dropped the ball'?

(no blessings for democrats? or libertarians?  greens? whigs? )
