1.1 for europeans?

hello guys

a short question:

when the 1.1 patch will be available for our european (especially german ) versions of sins?

 

i remember - we can't connect to the ironclad server without this patch and the informations we get are very rare. i can't understand why we have to wait so long. this 1.1 patch seems to work fine for all us-customers.

maybe one of the stardock team can tell us something about these problem.

Do you mean mainland Europe versions?  I'm British and got v1.1 when it came out in America.  Do you have Impulse?

 Britishlanguage is similar to america. so i think u just got the american language version. The problem here is that the patch dont work with german version because of the language.

 

but u have a workaround. just install the english version with impulse and than replace the english.str with the german one. runs fine with my version. only "ä" "ö" and so on are displayed wrong. maybe there are some translationbugs too. but u can play it without problems... but i dont now whisch german str. i have used... just try the original ...

Correct. We can download patches from Impulse but they don't work with the german version. In fact these patches destroy the german 1.05 and i had to install it new. Probable impulse can't identificate the different language-versions.

 

@unicatsins: Thanks for your tip but i allready know about this solution. Of course i could make use of this inofficial german.str-file.

Instead of that a want to know why we don't get a official solution from stardock. And - if its not ready - why we have to wait for weeks while the localisation of the 1.1 patch is allready done.

 

Month ago i read a 10-points-list of gamers rights. This in my thoughts a can't unterstand why stardock prefer the US-cutomers. Maybe they don't want to sell there next games in germany/europe... ?

I'm from belgium(europe) and had no problem with the 1.1 patch. I have impulse. But I don't think there's something like the belgian version lol.

IIRC, someone officially said that there was supposed to be a slight delay for the german translation, and other languages too. Try looking for the 1.1 release threads on these forums, you might find some additional information.

Good thing my language isn't spoken outside this country, so no one bothers to translate anything for us. Except EA.

it realy sucks on the German version, impluse just installs the English patch and the game is not working properly after the install. Is this the new gamers bill's right from Stardock ? To  Brad Wardell: Why you start talking about gamers bill's of rights, when your games not fulfills your on request ? Stop this ! Make this game working on all released languages !

As for me, I'm from Italy, and I ever knew there was no translation for me, either before to buy it.

Seems that the best success of this game is for now in the USA, and probably the developers will think to the translations only in the future...

I think that a translation could be a good thing, but is not necessary at all for have fun with this game.

Kalypso is responsible for doing the translations (we do not have any translators of our own). Best bet for an ETA on localizations is to contact them about this.

The latest statement from Kalypso said that they have done their work and are waiting to recieve the patch from Stardock. That is why i ask here.

" Wir können nur soviel sagen, dass wir den Patch seitens Stardock noch nicht erhalten haben, hier aber fleissig nachfragen."

And there is a second game with the same status! Kalypso is publishing GalCiv II and the players are waiting for their patch too. With the same status: translation ready and waiting for stardock.

Reminds me of a special situation between the stema version of two worlds and then normal version.

Steam says they're waiting for a patch from ZuxxeZ, and ZuxxeZ says they have delivered the patch long ago... who's right and who's wrong?

Who's done the mistake?... I bet you won't get an answer from this... I'm from germany too, but I ordered the US Version of the Game, so I have all the patches I need.

Sorry but *push* again! I didn't get an answer on my questions and kryos answer did not hit the subject of our problem.

 

Stardock is ignoring a whole continent full of customers and this is a outrageous attitude!

Hm, perhaps it makes sense for you to translate the statement from Kalypso into english, as not everyone can speak german...

In short: Kalypso denies any responsibility for the unpublished translated patches. Instead they claim, they can't implement any translations for as long as they don't receive the patches from Stardock...

Hm, you can try to contact the support from stardock. However, this statement, from Kalypso is kind of strange... I mean, the US version of the patch is available... (perhaps they don't want to install Impulse and wait for a stand alone version!!! ).

It's being worked on. By the terms of the contract with Kalypso, they were to provide support and updates for the games they localized and republished. But it seems they won't, so we're having to handle it ourselves. As such there will be some delay, but it will get done.
