problem with mod install pathway

I recently tried to use a mod which said the default folder to install to is C:\Documents and Settings\"your user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods.On my computer the game was installed to this path except for the "Ironclad Games" folder.I tried to just add this as a folder but it did not work.Wondering if there is any way to change the path the game looks at for mods.

I'm having the same issue... sort of, the path that is described in game when I click show path... doesn't exist on my PC. Using Vista 64...

The above path is for XP. On Vista, it is under:
C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\

I think you need to adjust a Folder Options setting in your Control Panel.
