New player, somewhat unclear on the various versions/patches etc

I've only just discovered this game and haven't even ploughed through the tutorials yet!

 

Anyway, I have the Endless Universe version and am a little confused.  When it loads it says it's GC, Endless Univese: Dark Avatar on the intro screen but I thought DA was an expansion of the original GC2?


Also, the patch revision is v1.82 but I see that there's a patch 2.01 but that appears to be for the original GC2 and not the Endless Universe version.  Have I understood all this correctly?


What IS the latest patch for the Endless Universe version?  Or is 1.82 the combined updated version for all GC2 games to date?

It is. The EU box is a special package that contains DA and TA without the need for the base game, since at the time it was made Kalypso did not have the rights to it (they do now, though).

The EU version contains the last release update version. We've had some technical issues preparing the 2.0 update for EU/UL, but it's been sorted so we hope to have the update up this week, at which point you'll be able to register the game in Impulse and download it.
