Images missing from windowblinds skins

Im sorry if this has been posted before but i havent looked around much. Ive noticed will some but not all skins in have downloaded seem to appear corrupted in the preview window. it seems to be the skins that have fancy images for the start menu and taskbar. They appear fine when i load them but if i restart my computer the taskbar and startmenu images are missing i can only see open windows and text on the start menu and taskbar but not the background image that's supposed to be there. I'll get an image when it happens again. Any help appreciated.

Also how do you attach an image to a post because i cant find a button that does that. :maybe:

Thanks in advance

I have found that when using Vista, some of the older WB's do not show the start panel or taskbar, though all windows are skinned as per usual.  Instead of getting the skin's start panel and taskbar I get Stardock's Diamond ones instead.  One of the older skins that does this is BorgXP by Mercury... while it is the exact same download that works fine in XP, in Vista it does not fully skin the UI

I don't think this problem is the same as yours, but I thought the info might be helpful to others.

Skins made for/on XP may sometimes show up "faulty" on Vista - especially older skins. Some of the really old skins simply won't have the required images for skinning the startmenu, because WB at that time didn't skin the start menu (early/pre-XP skins).

PS.: btw Starkers - That's one fine skin you mentioned as an example. One of the real classics!

Make sure you are loading the XP substyle of the skin, If you load Vista it will look horrible.

I'd pretty much come to that conclusion after finding that several of the older skins didn't display properly, but given their age and the advances to WindowBlinds it's understandable.

BorgXP sure is a classic... one of the best for sure.  Thing is, it's not a major issue for me that the taskbar and start menu don't skin as I'm using the Winstep Xtreme skin of the same name for those, so it's just the windows themselves, and they skin just fine to complete the overall theme... which BTW looks pretty sweet.
