Neutral planets........

I created my first map the other day and low and behold the neutral planets had hanger bays and turrets! cool.........Now my question is when I play hard on the maps that came with the game, why are there no defenses like these? Also should neutral colonys not have ships that say TEC on them? They should have their own ships.

The maps probably need to be reprocessed.

 

As for neutral forces, and pirates for that matter, yes I would love it if they had either their own ships or Advent and Vasari ships.

I think that it is that TEC is basicly the dominent power and the war goes on in there space, or something that pirates and colony defence forces end up with TEC or moded TEC ships.

But yes i would like to seem them with there own ships as well.

Neutral Colonies are those who you actually have to destroy before you can colonize. They hav some defenses and ships.

They are absent on most bundled maps, but the amount of them is controlled by a bar under "Planet Groups" in the map designer.

One thing I would like to see in the editor is a bar that would control how far planets are from each other. It is common on maps with 100+ planets around a single star that two or even more gravwells actually collide, while all other planets are separated by large distances. It's somewhat of a nuisance.

lore-wise I think that when the TEC was formed out of all those trader worlds, simply not all of them joined, so some stayed neutral. those are the planets you have to conquer all the time. and some of them happen to be more developed and thus are colonised and have hangars and more.

I would like some extra emphasis on those neutral worlds, like that they develop on their own to a certain degree. and a non-bloody solution to get them into your empire, or diplomacy with the in general. like the minor worlds in gal civ II. and of course I'd like an option for them to be in the standard maps the normal random maps. make it a slider or an 'on/ off' switch if you want, but I'd like them.

I would suppose it would be second mini-exp content, but tight lipped as the devs are, it just that. an assumption.
