Bootskin Pro skinning and Bootskin XP

Files not compatible

I first would like to thank you all for contributing to the newest Library, Bootskin Pro. The contributions have been magnificent. 5*

Now down to buisness:

While Xp boots and Pro boots have the same file extension .bootskin, they both contain different contents within. So XP boot skins are not compatible with the Vista Pro and vise versa. WC now has 2 Boot skin libraries and each will need to be uploaded to, according to XP or vista standards.

Thank you all once again for you hard work and dedication to WC.

HG. :)

Hi,

BootSkin Pro do not work for me in Windows Vista Ultimate. When I try to apply any Bootskin a popup BootSkin error appear and tell me:

There was an error while applying skinname.

Can anyone tell me how to solve that?

There is a current beta available through Impulse that Bootskin Pro users should give a try. In Impulse click on the Stardock Orb, then check the box 'Show pre-release....' then refresh the MyDesktop page and update to the latest version. If you want to be careful uninstall the old version, restart, and then download a fresh copy of the beta. Please let me know if you have further troubles or questions.
